BOMA BEST is Canada’s largest environmental assessment and certification program for existing buildings. BOMA BEST certification recognizes excellence in energy and environmental management and performance.
The City of Edmonton has been participating in the BOMA BEST program since 2019, and continues to add additional BOMA BEST certified buildings each year. As part of BOMA BEST participation, 20 percent of the City’s BOMA BEST certified buildings are selected annually for verification by a third party consultant to confirm and validate the certification level of these buildings.
In 2023, eight City buildings received a BOMA BEST Silver award for Excellence in Energy and Environmental Performance:
- Integrated Processing Transfer Facility (IPTF)
- EPL Highlands
- EPL Millwoods & Senior and Multicultural Centre
- Muttart Conservatory
- Confederation Leisure Centre & Arena
- Meadows Community Recreation Centre & Library
